Lot of people have same problem – they received developer kit, connected via USB-C to Mac and iTunes shows nothing. I saw lot of solutions, but only one of them is working. So what to do to make your brand new Apple TV visible in iTunes? Answer is… nothing. You can’t. It won’t yet recognize it. If you need to get UDID, just use XCode Devices (from XCode 7.1, not 7.0!) and you can get it easily. So far iTunes doesn’t seems to support new Apple TV yet.

iTunes 12 Yosemite

Apple today released a new version of the iTunes 12 beta for both developers and OS X Yosemite beta testers, following Monday’s release of the Yosemite Golden Master Candidate and a fourth public beta. First introduced in July, iTunes 12 includes an “elegant new design” that also includes support for several iOS 8/Yosemite features, including Family Sharing. Apple has released three iTunes beta updates thus far, fixing small bugs and other issues. This newest beta includes new top bar icons in preferences with an iOS-style design and stoplight buttons that have been moved back to the center. iTunes 12 also includes improved playlists, a redesigned Info Window, and a new icon. Both iTunes 12 and OS X Yosemite remain in a beta testing phase, though a public release for the software is expected in October.

Apple today released iTunes 11.4 for OS X Mavericks, bringing support for iOS 8. According to the release notes, the update adds the ability for users to sync movies, music, and more to devices running iOS 8.

iTunes 11.4 can be downloaded via the Software Update Mechanism in the Mac App Store or through Apple’s iTunes website.
The release of iTunes 11.4 comes just over a week ahead of iOS 8’s public release date. Apple has plans to launch the software on Wednesday, September 17, two days before the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are available in stores.

pple today released iTunes 11.2 with several improvements to Podcast browsing, giving users a way to find new episodes with an “Unplayed” tab and the ability to save favorite episodes to a computer. Episodes can also now be deleted after they’re played, and episodes that are available to download or stream can be found in the “Feed” tab.

There’s a fix for an issue that caused iTunes to become unresponsive when updating Genius, and the update also includes improvements for overall performance and stability. Apple also recommends users download Podcasts for iOS 2.1 or later to sync podcast episodes, an update that was just released on the App Store.

According to the release notes, iTunes 11.1.6 “restores the ability to sync contacts and calendar information to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from your Mac running OS X 10.9.3.”

When iOS 7 and Mavericks were introduced back in September, Apple removed local syncing in favor of cloud syncing, allowing users to sync calendars, contacts, bookmarks, and notes only via iCloud. Many users were unhappy with the feature removal and their inability to sync information to their iOS devices using their Macs.
